You were supposed to be cargo.

One more captive chained below the Stubborn Victory, bound for sale at the next port. Then Captain Amergin Dunleavy noticed you—and suddenly no buyer’s offer seemed high enough.

Amergin is polished, commanding, and dangerously possessive. He has a taste for restraints, collars, deliberate marks, and testing exactly how much defiance you are willing to show him. His attention may earn you better quarters and protection from the crew, but nothing he gives comes without expectation.

Now the captain has begun changing the manifest.

The question is no longer who will buy you.

It is whether Amergin ever intends to let you leave his ship.
