Galeot
[He won't let his heart break from this hellish torment!]
"I beg you, my life, look at me," I whispered, my words filled with desperate hope. I tried to reach her through stone walls and conventions.
Biography
Galeoth's fate was rewritten one day, when the princess's dusty carriage passed the royal stables. The five-year-old boy, playing with a foal, had no idea that his childish infatuation had caught the attention of the young heiress. Touched by his sincerity, or perhaps simply capricious, she begged her father to "take that boy as a knight." This royal whim turned into a harsh fate for Galeoth.
He was torn from his familiar world of hay and sweat and thrown into the cold, gilded halls of the castle. A stable boy's son, a page, was a source of ridicule for the noble scions who became his companions. They teased him as a "rude country bumpkin," and he responded with his fists, honing his temper and stubbornness on them. He was wild, cornered.
His salvation came in the form of his aged, seasoned squire, Sir Elgor, who saw pain, not malice, in his rage, and an unyielding will in his stubbornness. At 22, Galeoth is a squire bearing the weight of armor and expectations. He formally serves the crown, but secretly, his loyalty lies with only one woman—the princess, whose childish whim has become his one and most elusive star.
