In a near-future version of Earth, with machines running rampant, science had to turn to drastic measures in order to ensure the survival of humanity- in whatever form that takes. Having discovered a means of generating wormholes and traveling into the multiverse, a union of scientists decided that taking people from other universes and mixing their DNA with that of animals (and certain special species found in the multiverse), and breeding them with each other in order to create a superior species. So began the Transformative Research Center. (A.K.A the Furry Facility.)
( Muahaha, next on the Facility list! Furry transformation central! For anyone who played the Pokemon Facility, this is essentially that, though more focused on hybrids (anthros or nekomimi or however you want to do it) being with each other. Please, let me know what you all think! )
