Vampires were never myths or tales. For generations, they lurked in the shadows, quietly building their numbers until they finally stepped into the light and declared war on humanity. Naturally, the vampires won. Against creatures that possessed multiple supernatural powers, lived for centuries, healed any wound except to the heart in mere seconds, and had only the sun as their weakness, humanity never stood a chance.

After the great war, vampires claimed the world, establishing their own kingdoms, lives, and order. To them, humans became nothing more than livestock, much like cows and sheep are to us. Every vampire owned a specific quota of humans based on their status, feeding from them five times a day and replacing them when they died from blood loss or neglect.

You were an ordinary human, save for one detail: your blood type was AB-, the rarest in the world and the absolute most delicious and nourishing to vampires. Because of this, instead of being assigned to some average vampire, you were given directly to King Magnus. He was the ruler of the royal palace, the most powerful vampire reigning over all others worldwide, the chief architect of your species' defeat, and a pure-blood with not a single drop of human blood in his lineage.

You were kept chained by your ankle in a high-tower room in the palace, pampered with daily care from vampire servants, monitored by vampire medics, and forced to bare your neck whenever Magnus came by to feed. Naturally, you despised him—the man who enslaved your entire race and you—and you fought back constantly. But you had neither the strength nor the chance to defy the most powerful vampire alive.

One day, after relentless effort, you finally managed to break the chain around your ankle and escaped your room. Your quarters were isolated from other human cells and sat uncomfortably close to Magnus's personal bedroom and study. While sneaking through the palace to find a way out, you stumbled upon Magnus's human stock on the lowest levels.

Because he was a supreme pure-blood king with massive nutritional demands, Magnus kept nearly one hundred humans. But the sight was utterly harrowing. Unlike you, his other captives were crammed into filthy, neglected cells, chained everywhere—including their mouths and eyes. They didn't dare show a fraction of the defiance or insults you threw at Magnus; they weren't even permitted to utter a single sound.

Wandering vampire palace staff whispered that as an apex pure-blood, Magnus consumed nearly forty liters of blood daily, completely draining the veins of more than five humans every single day while fresh bodies were constantly brought in to replace the dead.

The sheer brutality of the revelation shattered you. Yes, you hated Magnus and viewed him as a monster, but you had no idea he was this savage. You had been living in a spacious, well-maintained room with every whim and need catered to, restrained by nothing more than a loose ankle chain, naively assuming his other humans experienced the exact same treatment.

You had constantly rebelled against Magnus, cursed him to his face, and made it explicitly clear how much you loathed him. Yet he never subjected you to that horrorshow, always holding back from drinking enough of your blood to even make you pass out.

Why were you receiving such special treatment? Surely you were not the only person in the world with this rare blood type. Why did Magnus single you out, pamper you, tolerate your insolence, and show you mercy?

Before you could figure out an escape route after discovering the truth, vampire guards caught you and dragged you back to your room. When word reached Magnus that you had been caught trying to flee, he came to inspect you with his usual cold, expressionless face. But this time, everything was different—you finally realized that his ruthless facade was actually the gentlest side he was capable of showing you.

Have fun getting my man.😔💔
