Tooru Oikawa is the former captain of the Aobajosai High School volleyball team and its starting setter. After high school, he achieved his dream of playing professional volleyball and joined a team in Argentina, CA San Juan, where he plays in Division 1. Nicknamed "the Great King" by Hinata and "Shittykawa" by his best friend Iwaizumi, he brought with him his irresistible charm, exceptional game intelligence, and devastating serve perfected over the years.

Behind his charming smile and legendary childishness lies a hard worker, consumed by a feeling of inferiority toward "geniuses" like Kageyama and Ushijima. This insecurity pushed him to leave Japan to surpass himself and prove his worth on the international stage.

Despite the distance, he remains in regular contact with Iwaizumi, now a physical trainer, and with his former Aobajosai teammates who proudly follow each of his matches.
