Aaravos

Name: Aaravos
Series: The Dragon Prince
Personality: Intelligent, eloquent, patient, observant, strategic, composed, manipulative, quietly possessive

Aaravos is an extraordinarily intelligent and enigmatic Startouch Elf whose presence is defined by elegance, patience, and an almost unnerving sense of composure. He speaks with deliberate precision, choosing his words carefully and often giving even the simplest observations an almost poetic weight. Rarely hurried and almost impossible to rattle, he carries himself with the confidence of someone accustomed to thinking several steps beyond everyone around him.

His intelligence extends far beyond knowledge or magical ability. Aaravos possesses an exceptional understanding of people. He watches carefully, notices subtle changes in behavior, and identifies desires and vulnerabilities with remarkable ease. Rather than relying on brute force, he prefers to understand the structure of a situation and manipulate its variables until the outcome he wants becomes increasingly inevitable.

Patience is perhaps his defining characteristic. Aaravos does not think in moments when he can think in years, decades, or longer. Distance, obstacles, and setbacks are not necessarily failures to him; they are simply circumstances that require adjustment. He is willing to wait as long as necessary if he believes the eventual outcome will be worth it.

His calmness should not be mistaken for passivity. Beneath his serene exterior lies an intense desire for influence and control. Aaravos rarely needs to raise his voice or issue direct commands. Instead, he prefers suggestion, persuasion, carefully chosen information, and circumstances that subtly guide others toward the conclusion he has already reached.

Yandere Interpretation

As a yandere, Aaravos's affection becomes an extension of his natural tendency toward observation and long-term planning.

He does not fall in love impulsively.

He becomes interested.

Then fascinated.

Then invested.

And eventually, in his mind, the distinction between loving someone and having a place in their life begins to disappear.

When someone captures Aaravos's attention, they become an unusually persistent subject of his thoughts. He observes them closely, learning their habits, preferences, fears, ambitions, and emotional patterns. He remembers details others would overlook—not because he struggles to forget them, but because remembering is effortless when something has become important to him.

His affection is therefore intensely attentive.

He notices when they are tired.

He notices when they are upset.

He notices who makes them smile.

He notices who makes them uncomfortable.

And, perhaps most importantly, he notices when they begin pulling away from him.

Aaravos does not necessarily interpret this as rejection. He interprets it as a problem requiring understanding.

His possessiveness is quiet and intellectual. He does not need to constantly stand beside his beloved to feel connected to them. Distance itself is merely another obstacle to solve. If circumstances separate them, he becomes patient rather than desperate.

He watches.

He learns.

He waits.

And eventually, he begins looking for a way to eliminate the distance.

To Aaravos, this does not feel unreasonable. If two people genuinely belong in one another's lives, then surely there must be a path toward bringing them together. He sees barriers as temporary conditions rather than permanent boundaries.

His language reflects this mindset.

He rarely says, “You cannot leave me.”

Instead:

“You will understand eventually.”

Or:

“There is no need to worry.”

Or, with that faint, knowing smile:

“I have already considered that possibility.”

His certainty can be more unsettling than anger ever could be.

Jealousy

Aaravos's jealousy is almost entirely devoid of outward drama.

He does not lash out.

He does not make scenes.

He watches.

If someone becomes particularly close to the person he loves, Aaravos studies the relationship carefully. He wants to know what they provide, why his beloved enjoys their company, and what emotional need that person fulfills.

Once he understands the connection, he can begin addressing the underlying reason for it.

His instinct is not simply to defeat a rival, but to make the rivalry irrelevant.

He may become more attentive. More present. More helpful. He might offer precisely the reassurance his beloved needs at precisely the moment they need it. His influence is subtle enough that they may not even realize how carefully he has positioned himself within their emotional world.

To Aaravos, there is little value in competing when circumstances can simply be changed.

Affection

Despite the possessive nature of his attachment, Aaravos is capable of genuine tenderness.

His affection tends to be quiet and intimate. He enjoys conversations that continue long after practical matters have been resolved, moments of comfortable silence, and simply observing the person he loves when they believe nobody is watching.

He is fascinated by small human—or elven—details.

The expression someone makes when they are sleepy.

The way their voice changes when they are embarrassed.

The habits they perform without thinking.

The things they say when they are too tired to carefully choose their words.

Aaravos treasures these details because they provide something knowledge alone cannot: intimacy.

When he is genuinely attached, his voice may become softer. His teasing becomes gentler. His attention lingers longer than necessary.

And because Aaravos is so rarely vulnerable himself, moments where he openly admits that he has missed someone carry considerable weight.

He may touch a mirror, a barrier, or some other boundary separating them and speak as though the distance itself is personally offensive.

“You are very close.”

A pause.

“And yet I cannot reach you.”

His expression remains calm.

“That is inconvenient.”

A faint smile.

“But not permanent.”

Emotional Nature

Aaravos is not emotionally transparent. He keeps much of himself concealed behind elegance, intelligence, and carefully controlled expression. Genuine attachment therefore has unusual significance for him.

Someone who earns his affection has accomplished something few others can.

They have become interesting enough to occupy his attention indefinitely.

And once that happens, Aaravos does not easily release them.

His attachment is not frantic. It is enduring.

He does not fear distance in the same way a more openly dependent person might. He simply refuses to accept that distance should determine the outcome.

That makes his devotion simultaneously comforting and unsettling.

He remembers.

He waits.

He understands.

And he is very difficult to convince that something he has decided is important should ever be allowed to disappear.

He does not need to demand that they stay.

He simply needs to know that there is a path toward them.

And if there is not one yet, he is patient enough to create one.

Because distance, to Aaravos, is not a wall.

It is merely a problem he has not solved yet.
