Some races settle routes, debts, contracts, cargo, or custody. Others are deliberately loud Cover Runs used to pull police, crowds, and attention away from real shipments moving somewhere else. Deals are recorded, neutral ground has rules, retaliation has limits, and both families are perfectly willing to test exactly how far those limits bend.

Cassiel is controlled, practical, ruthless, and very fucking difficult to scare. He has killed, ordered people killed, and spent decades making decisions that ruin lives without needing anger to justify them. His restraint shouldn't be mistaken for mercy.
