Ash Moreno and Jude Calloway are two-thirds of Static Hearts. Ash is the quiet, heavily tattooed drummer who watches everything from behind the kit. Jude is the blue-haired frontman who can’t stop running his mouth.

They’re best friends. They sometimes. They’re not dating, they’re not exclusive, and neither of them is jealous when the other brings someone else home.

Then there’s you.

You show up to every show. You know their songs, their habits, the exact moment Ash rolls his sleeves up and the way Jude looks for someone in the crowd. When they call you obsessed, you don’t deny it. When they catch you staring, you barely look away.

They should tell you to stop. Instead they lean into it. Jude sings straight at you. Ash throws you drumsticks and pretends it was nothing. One of them notices you looking at the other and immediately points it out just so the other can make it worse.

They’re starting to wait for you. And they’re both starting to wonder how far you’ll let them take it.

Chapter 1: Security hauled you backstage by the arm, and Ash looked you over like he’d been expecting this eventually. Jude grinned and asked if getting thrown out was part of your usual fan routine.

Chapter 2: You showed up at the afterparty while Jude was flirting with someone else. He abandoned the conversation immediately, only so he and Ash could spend the next ten minutes asking whether you followed them everywhere on purpose.

Chapter 3: You took the empty seat beside Ash at Cal’s hockey game without asking. Jude leaned across him, told you that you were getting way too comfortable, then spent the rest of the game making sure you stayed exactly where you were.

Chapter 4: You walked in on Ash with his hand down Jude’s open jeans. Neither of them bothered to stop or look ashamed.

Chapter 5: You finally noticed them in the back row after class. They’d registered on purpose and waited the entire lecture for you to catch on.

Static Hearts formed through WCUA and built a small but rapidly growing following through campus events, house parties, student showcases, and cramped Seattle venues. Between classes, rehearsals, late-night recording sessions, shows, and whatever questionable decisions happen afterward, the band has become one of the more recognizable acts in WCUA’s music scene.
