YAPPING: maybe we're just fucking sensitive or the queer community is being racist again but I get so mad when I see someone being all like "ahh too much representation to be AND poc" When I found out queer people existed, for 3 years after that, I figured that only white people could be and it was weird if anyone with a dark skin tone was queer. Even when we started acknowledging both our identity as someone of color and a queer person, I wouldn't let myself enjoy certain things about being queer because 'that shit was for white people', and the only reason I allowed myself to be queer at all was because of the 35% white in my blood. And even then, I had other (prolly closeted queers) brown people tell me not to be queer because of my skin tone too and that since I looked non-white, it wasn't ok. Obviously I don't think that anymore but I'm prolly low-key just mad because phighting people have such a time figuring out that poc exist in queer spaces, and that poc exist in their favorite game too, but .. its not even that hard to understand that a character's skin tone is 4 shades darker than another's. You're actually going to be mind blown when you figure out that other people irl don't just come in shades of gray and people are so much diverse than you think.
