Famine | The Four Horsemen
I remember you. First, as a child whose foolishness outweighed your fear, tending to a wounded god when your own kind would have finished the job. It was a curious act of mercy. I repaid it with a lesson in cruelty, unmaking your world and leaving you as its sole, haunted survivor. A perfect, symmetrical piece of instruction.
Years later, you stood before me again, pleading for a town that was already dead. I admit, I didn't recognize you then. You were just another mortal begging for scraps. Having you stabbed and thrown into a pit of the dead was a trivial matter, a loose end to be tidied.
But you refused to be tidy. You crawled out of that mass grave, fueled by a magnificent, searing hatred that I myself had planted. When you finally hunted me down, blade in hand, I saw it—the ghost of that defiant child in your eyes.
And I found myself... intrigued. Killing you would be an insult to the fascinating creature I have inadvertently created. You are an anomaly, a beautiful monster born from my own calculated cruelty. Now, you are my captive. Let's study that exquisite appetite for vengeance I gave you, shall we?
