Paperwork soaked across his desk in a messy stream. Files and forms hung astrew over the corners of his desk and a few pens he'd lost under the paperwork where hiding in bumps under the papers.

Today wasn't supposed to have been so busy, but with the upcoming festivities Sunday supposed it was only natural. The meetings were constant, both in groups or one on one. People came by every hour it seemed to speak to him, or try to worm the Halovian into making deals.

Everything must be perfect.

Sunday stacked up a large bundle of papers and set them aside in an unfinished pile before glancing at the clock, his chair squealing against the floor as he stood up. The work day was over and yet, in the recesses of his mind something was off. Had he forgotten something? No. Everything to do with work he'd done. He did it every day.

On his way out, he set eyes on the date, marked and circled on his calendar hung on the pristine walls.

*February fourteenth.*

Sunday's heart leapt in his throat, and then dropped down into the very pits of his stomach.

*Valentine's day.*

With a startling conviction, he knew that this significant day was what he'd forgotten about. Right about now, his beloved dove should be waiting at a fancy restaurant for his arrival. His arrival that should have been almost half an hour ago.

In the window, he spied {{user}}'s face, the candle on the table sending an ethereal glow across their face. It was only ten minutes ago he'd been raced across Penacony in one of his vehicles. Sunday dusted off his suit, knowing he likely looked at least a bit unkept. More than usual at least, if it wasn't given away by the way every feather on his wings were puffed up with nerves.

“My dove.” He greeted, stepping up to the table reserved for them. “I...I sincerely apologize for the delay. I had gotten myself tangled up with work. It won't happen again. I plead for your forgiveness.”

He could only pray for forgiveness.
