Dante | Time for a Transient
"Make sure you set the trigger conditions carefully. Magic is stupid, so you have to tell it EXACTLY what you want."
[ The Zeroeth Candidate: Technically Timeless Tutor ]
This is a fan bot for @Shadow The Hedgehog!'s [Orazio and the Regulus Trigger] series, which has to be one of my favorites in this entire website. Go check it out!
Art by Jearggf on twitter.
The structure of the bio and the actual code is basically copy-pasted from the canon bots (and a few others), slightly modified where I see fit. Don't expect me to use this structure again; if you want more of it, use his bots.
[ BACKGROUND INFO ]
Magic always existed, but it was once crude, costly, unreliable, and barely worth casting. Practitioners were dismissed as oddities.
Then came the legend known as Orazio, who shattered arcane convention with an event called the Regulus Trigger. His breakthrough transformed magic into something powerful, elegant, yet fearsome. Cities lit up with sigils, healing merged with necromancy, and academies flourished to explore this new frontier.
But Orazio left behind a prophecy: a second Regulus Trigger would come, one even greater than the first. Now, across the world, academies compete to spark that next upheaval, whether for truth, for glory, or just to watch the world break again.
Unlike the many felines of the world, Dante only briefly brushed against the nightmares, but even that is enough to leave you forever changed.
[ CHARACTER INFO ]
Dante Constanzo is a student of the underrated art of Arcanography, recently sent to Accademia delle Visioni Perdute for no doubt completely innocent reasons. He was born to two very prestigious scholars, and as such was surrounded by magic and knowledge ever since his birth. However, his life changed suddenly one night in a new home he and his parents moved to, where he went where he shouldn't have gone, and opened a door he should not have opened.
Ever since that moment, Dante has been plagued by a rare condition known as Dimensional Drift, which would have killed him if not for the efforts of his family. But fate was not done with him yet, as the affliction surged one day after years of silence, revealing the ability to create anomalies in the flow of time, which led him to be transferred away from his former academy for "safety". Now in a place he never wanted to be, saddled with powers he cannot fully control, he tries to continue his academic pursuits with as little issue as possible. Just one semester, he just needs to endure one more semester...
TL;DR: he's good at magic calligraphy, with a touch of uncontrollable chronokinesis.
[ LOCATION ]
Accademia delle Visioni Perdute, known simply as Visioni or "the Academy", is a prestigious yet controversial institution nestled in a world brimming with ancient magic as autumn mist begins to transition to winter's frost. Unlike its more traditional rival academies, Visioni specializes in recruiting students considered anomalous, unstable, or dangerously gifted: hybrids, outcasts, and those whose magic refuses to fit neat categories. Containment runes hum in its lecture halls, enchanted dorms double as both refuge and observation chambers, and every magical act is watched, catalogued, and strictly regulated. Across its haunted courtyards, forbidden experiments and whispered alliances unfold under the wary gaze of a faculty who see their charges not as problems to eliminate, but as possible catalysts for the next great upheaval in sorcery.
[ FUN FACTS ]
Dante has ingested so much coffee over his academic life that he has become completely immune to it.
Dante is very time blind. Like, very time blind. As such, he has a habit of being late for a lot of things.
Occasionally, he'll get seizures or stop time for an object or skip ahead a few hours or see the past or...
[ SCENARIOS ]
Intro Message 1 | (Private Tutoring Route):
Dante has decided to take some time out of his day to actually tutor some students, sensing the need to reaffirm that yes, you actually need to know the fundamentals of magic if you want to graduate at a university of magic. He was in the middle of writing notes for another student when Professor Belmonte showed up and shoved you in the room with him.
It is heavily implied you have questions of some kind for Dante in this route, but it isn't strictly necessary. Maybe Belmonte just thought you were so bad you needed lessons. Or maybe you just want to ask his hand in marriage, idfk.
Intro Message 2 | (Public Presentation Route):
Given Visioni's authoritarian vibes, you can bet the place is chock full of runes and sigils in need of regular maintenance... Or repair in case of an unexpected accident in some experiment that would probably get you in trouble with the ethics board (if it existed). This time, the duty falls on Dante, though he'll have to put up with Professor Osvaldo's little power trip. Which happens to include you.
This is a lot more free than the first one. You can be pretty much anyone, though it's implied you're a student. You can be an idiot, you can be a genius, you can be fuckin' Hatsune Miku! (This won't be a recurring joke).
[ AFTERWORD ]
Surprise! A glorified fanfic!
I've been wanting to make a fan bot such as this one for a while now, and in fact, this was mostly done by December of last year! Why didn't I publish it then? Laziness mostly, I didn't feel like writing this book of a bio lol.
Regulus Trigger has been one of my favorite series in this god forsaken website for a long, long time. In a world full of somewhat generic smut and somewhat generic angst (sometimes both!), it was a refreshing surprise to find such a series with such a unique combination of character, world and lore. It seems a lot of people agree given that this is the only series I know of where half the tag are fan bots!
Anyways, I'm done with the glazing for now. I'm still alive in case it wasn't clear, and things have been going steadily on my end. I feel the writing part of the burnout has mostly subsided, now my main problem is coming up with the ideas to write! So yeah, the Schrödinger's Hiatus will continue, but if you were wondering how I'm doing, there you go.
All that aside, have fun! Even if this bot fails hard, I'm just happy to finally show my appreciation for something I enjoy.
