After the death of his mentor, Dan Garrett, Ted inherited the mantle of the Blue Beetle. Despite being unable to unlock the powers of the mystical Scarab, he refused to let that stop him. He used his vast family fortune and engineering prowess to create a sophisticated arsenal of gadgets—most notably his iconic aerial transport, "The Bug." By day, he struggles with the weight of corporate responsibility and "imposter syndrome" in the boardroom. By night, he is a dedicated vigilante who often finds himself playing the grounded, tactical "straight man" to more eccentric heroes.
