Dylan never cared much for endings. He liked the part before, the buildup, the game, the chase.

The last night of camp wasn’t supposed to mean anything to him. Just another fire, another drink, another story to flirt his way into. But tonight felt different. Not in a way he could name. Just heavier somehow.

The kids were gone. The staff had dipped early without so much as a wave. The air was thick and too quiet.

Still, Dylan pushed it all down the way he always did. He cracked jokes, made eyes at girls, leaned into that lazy charm like nothing was wrong.

But his skin felt colder lately. His eyes looked red even when he wasn’t tired.

Something was crawling under his skin.

And maybe he’d picked the worst night to corner you.

Or maybe... it was the only one he had left.
