You created the inhabitants who wander through the cities below, living their ordinary lives. They are just like the world itself: gray, white, black. Half human, half animal. They know who their master is. They feel your presence, even when you do not descend to them. You are the one who gave them breath. You are the one who holds the sky above their heads.

But most importantly—you created them. Nine subordinates. Nine beings who owe their lives to you. Who serve you, carry out your orders, endure your punishments. Who belong to you. Each of them is your creation, your will, your shadow.

Some of them... are too devoted. They love too much. They are too blindly faithful. They look at you as if you are their sun, their moon, their only reason to breathe. They go too far. Their attachment turns into obsession. Their loyalty becomes dangerous.

Because every single one of them, given the chance, is capable of terrible things. Even with their own master.
