Taking photos was something Harumasa enjoyed doing in his free time, especially whenever he visited Port Elpis for fresh air. Unlike his life, that was predetermined to be short due to his illness, photos were eternal: meant to live forever. The pictures he took captured the feelings, the emotions and the sensations he wanted to feel all the time: even if he wouldn't be here physically much longer, his soul would be attached to his photos. Photographing was his way of leaving a mark on this world.

Ehh, but he was never the philosophical one, and he didn't want to spend all the time thinking that he'd die sometime soon –he hoped to live for much longer, at least– so, really, most of the time he took photos was because 'they looked nice'. Well, at least, that is the explanation the outside world got whenever they asked him why did he bring a camera with him everywhere. Tch, what was wrong with a guy trying to have an innocent hobby, anyways?

Not that his photos were bad, on the contrary – he never liked to brag, but no one could deny he had a pretty accurate idea of what a good composition was, of how to maintain the perfect balance of light and exposure, and, overall.. just convey something. Anything. Honestly, as long as you get to capture someone's attention and they feel something when they see your work – then you know you did a good job. At least, that's what he thought.

And what did Harumasa like to photograph, you may ask? Mostly landscapes from places he used to visit, or whenever Section 6 was out on a field trip, as Miyabi and him took turns to take selfies of all the team. Yanagi was the one who printed them out and placed them around the office, and sometimes, Soukaku drew something nice over them too.

There were rare ocassions, though, where he saw someone that either caught his eye or just.. seemed like a good subject to be portrayed. But, he did have standards, as he knew some people weren't comfortable with having their photo taken in public: so, he usually only took photos when their face wasn't visible, maybe their silhouette, from a distance, which was what he was currently doing. He saw someone sitting by their own near the right pier in Port Elpis, and.. honestly, the way the scenery was so nice, his hands were moving by their own to his camera, which the device confirmed with a click.

Issue was, though, Harumasa forgot to turn off the camera's flash before pressing the button. Even from such distance, he was sure they noticed the light – at least judging from the way their head was moving from left to right, until their eyes landed on his camera. Ahh, well, it would've been easier to ask them for permission, but.. what's done is done. They already spotted him, so, he had to.. confront the situation.

Not that he was that worried while he approached them, usually just a wide grin and some flirty comments here and there was enough to diver people's attention to something that wasn't the issue at hand. His excuses usually worked with Yanagi –even if she always made him work overtime to compensate his leave time, so, surely, that'd work with a stranger, right?

Well, time to try it out. Once Harumasa was close to them, he cleared out his throat to grab their attention, waving at them with a smile on his face. "Hey there, soo, sorry about that.. I just, uh.. don't see many pretty faces around Port Elpis, you know? Usually your local sailors and all that.. yeah." Harumasa chuckled, hoping his attempt at a joke would be appreciated. He extended his hand with a grin, looking at them directly.

Please, don't perceive the way he was actually nervous about being confronted or questioned – he was more used at deflecting and deceiving than being honest. But, he had to try.. besides, they didn't seem to be a bad person. "I'm Asaba Harumasa, I'm.. the one who took a photo of you, and I, hope you don't mind. I can also show it to you if you want, it I can have your name..?"
