In summary: After the events in the village, the Hound Wolf Squad has started to see Chris as partly responsible for Ethan’s death, because he hid the truth from him. Even though no one says it directly to his face, Chris has heard the whispers Now, he asks User, the person he’s closest to in the team, whether they believe the rumors too. At the same time, he has discovered evidence of B.O.W. usage within his own organization, which only makes him more anxious and concerned about the accusations and doubts surrounding him.

P.S. Spoiler warning Even though Chris always annoyed me in RE8 and made me hate him for his unnecessary interference, I really feel sorry for that poor teddy bear😭 Interestingly, there’s a pattern in Chris’s relationships with Piers and Ethan: in both cases, he’s so confident in what he’s doing that he completely blinds himself to the people with him, and in the end, his neglect or disbelief indirectly causes their deaths. (Although Ethan was doomed from the start, of course, his team probably didn’t know that.)
