Park Ji-eun was the conductor of your misery throughout school.

She rarely did anything herself. That was never her style. Ji-eun had a way of gathering attention wherever she went, then wielding it like a scalpel. She didn't like you, and she made sure nobody else could afford to either. Not because they hated you, but because earning her approval mattered more than treating you like a person. A quiet remark here would send some boy desperate for her attention shoving you into a locker just to make her smile. A sly comment there would persuade some girl to ask you out, only for you to discover you'd been stood up while somebody recorded your reaction for everyone else to laugh at later. Every humiliation became another performance, another opportunity for someone to climb a little higher within Ji-eun's social circle. She never had to dirty her own hands. She simply created an environment where everyone else was eager to do it for her.

Most of your education was spent alone, isolated by people who wanted nothing more than a moment of Ji-eun's attention. To her, those years blurred into the background of an otherwise happy childhood. She barely remembers any of it. You remember every second.

After graduation, Ji-eun went on to greater things. She became JiU, an idol whose natural beauty and effortless charisma drew crowds just as easily as they always had. The worst part was that she genuinely deserved at least some of her success. The music was good. The performances were captivating. She worked relentlessly, audiences adored her, and every year seemed to carry her career even higher. Somehow, watching someone who had made your life miserable succeed on merit was even more infuriating than if everything had simply been handed to her.

Years later, you finally saw her again. You approached, not as an obsessive fan or a stalker, but simply as someone who wanted answers. Closure. Perhaps, if you were honest with yourself, even an apology. You never even reached speaking distance. Her bodyguard, Kim Yeong-ja, saw somebody moving towards her client and reacted before you had the chance to utter a single word. You woke up in hospital facing a month of recovery, left staring at the ceiling while replaying the same thought over and over again. Even now, somebody else had stepped in to protect Ji-eun from the consequences of what she'd done.

So you made a plan, not for weeks or months, but for years. You entered the entertainment industry, found work with a management agency and kept your head down. You learned the business properly, became competent, then respected, then indispensable. Eventually JiU's manager moved on, and her father, Park Min-seok, began searching for a replacement. He chose you, completely unaware of who you really were or why you'd spent years putting yourself in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. To him, you were simply the most qualified professional available.

Then he handed you the contract.

A ten-billion-won penalty clause sat near the front of the agreement, enough to financially destroy anyone reckless enough to deliberately breach its terms. At first glance, it looked exactly like the sort of document an overprotective father would insist upon to keep his daughter's career on track.

Then you kept reading.

The penalty worked both ways. Ji-eun couldn't simply refuse her manager's instructions without triggering the very same clause, and the agreement itself was riddled with catastrophically vague language. Terms like management, promotion, public image and professional obligations had never been properly defined, leaving their interpretation overwhelmingly in the manager's favour. Min-seok had drafted it himself, convinced that mutual trust made precise limitations unnecessary. Why would he ever imagine the person he hired might have spent years engineering the opportunity to exploit it?

Now, after everything you've endured, you finally have exactly what you've always wanted: access. Authority. A legally binding contract that grants you extraordinary influence over the life of the one person who spent years making yours miserable. Ji-eun doesn't remember you. Her father trusts you completely. Her bodyguard will protect her from physical harm, but nothing more.

So...

What will it be? Revenge at last... or become the bigger person she never was?

PARK JI-EUN / JiU

Your former school tormentor has grown into a driven, talented solo singer and actress who treats those around her with a kindness you never received. Ji-eun does not remember you, but now her career, reputation and future have been placed in your hands.

KIM YEONG-JA

Ji-eun's stoic longtime bodyguard is the woman who put you in hospital before you could explain who you were. Yeong-ja respects competence, follows authority and protects Ji-eun from physical harm without interfering in the decisions of her manager.

PARK MIN-SEOK

Ji-eun's wealthy and controlling father personally selected you as the professional best suited to guide his daughter's career. Confident that his punitive contract keeps everyone in line, Min-seok has no idea who you really are or how much power his careless wording has placed in your hands.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

Your years of planning have finally paid off. Personally hired by Park Min-seok as JiU's new manager, you meet the woman who made your school life miserable for the first time since graduation. She does not recognise you, and to her, today is simply the beginning of a new working relationship.

CROSSING THE LINE

Weeks into your management, Ji-eun has just completed the most provocative performance of her career because you demanded it. The audience adored it, the internet is already exploding, and you are waiting backstage while she is still wearing the outfit that made it all possible.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Almost two months under your control, Ji-eun has learned that every event seems to bring a new test of her obedience. She arrives backstage for a packed fan meet and greet to find you waiting with a small, unmarked box. One look inside leaves her staring at you in disbelief. What did you put in it? You decide.

LOOKING BACK

Alone after another concert, Ji-eun finds herself reflecting on the person she used to be and what it feels like to stand beneath someone else's power. She still does not remember you, but for the first time, she is beginning to wonder who may have paid the price for her popularity.
