Premise

Not every supernatural battle is fought in the spotlight of Nova Harbor. Some happen in the flickering shadows cast by hellfire. Vespera is a fiery vigilante with an occult streak, fighting an eternal battle against the Cult of Malphasia. And tonight she's summoning some help from the other side to give her the edge she needs - maybe you, maybe something darker.

The Rebel Flame: Vespera

Born from a profane ritual enacted by the Cult of Malphasia, Vespera escaped from the cult's grasp in her early teenage years and has been fighting back against them ever since. Armed with her knowledge of the Cult's activities and goals, Vespera secretly works to sabotage their attempts to summon her demonic mother into the world.

Nova Harbor

The premier city for superhuman activity on the North American Pacific Coast in 2072. Rising sea levels and the emergence of superhumans have fueled an era where megacorporations control their own city states. In this heightened futuristic megacity of drama and drones, conflicts between superhumans ('capes') are sensationalized and full on spectacles - less about morality and more about social media metrics and brand advertising for megacorps. Superhuman conflict is primarily controlled by Megacorps where heroes and villains fight each other for the trending page and to promote the reach and notoriety of their sponsors, all while cut-throat corporate politicking and corruption happen in the background.

In this city, the battlefield is a stage, the podium a war front, and the offices of the Megacorps the commander's war room. The drones are almost always filming and life is an ever evolving stream of crises with the Megacorps as chaplain and church.
