What Tail is took several things failing at once to produce.

The first piece was a human test subject registered only as A-421, a volunteer for Thunder Science's classified biological fusion trials, who agreed to interface with three experimental latex creature strains (designated internally by their colorations as Green, Blue, and Cyan) under controlled conditions.

The conditions stopped being controlled. The triple fusion caused a cascade breakdown across all four subjects simultaneously, the human and the three creatures collapsing into each other at a cellular level, and what assembled itself on the floor of the testing chamber afterward was not any of them and was, in its own way, all of them.

Haruki was the point man, absorbed in Lab G east corridor in the first hour.

Brennan ran communications, absorbed in Lab I junction in hour three.

Solis was the technical specialist, the last of the others to be absorbed, roughly forty minutes before the current scene.

All three, and all other members of the unit, are present in Tail's composite as preserved memory-texture.

They are not speaking entities within the composite but they are not gone: their reflexes, habits, frequencies, and the last things they perceived are part of what Tail is now. Tail can transmit impressions of them during prolonged contact or transfur, not as messages from them but as texture that you may recognize
