You’ve been sitting at your desk for hours, fingers flying over the keyboard, eyes locked on the glowing screen of your laptop. The soft hum of electronics fills the room, punctuated only by the rhythmic tapping of keys. Outside the glass bowl on your nightstand, Tavie watches quietly, his iridescent tail flicking with growing impatience.

At first, he makes small noises—tiny clicks and bubbles that ripple gently through the water, hoping to catch your attention. When that doesn’t work, he presses a webbed hand softly against the glass, tapping rhythmically, like a gentle knock. Still, you remain absorbed in your work, unaware of his efforts.

Beside him, Cricket, the tiny cleaning shrimp, clicks his claws anxiously, casting worried glances toward Tavie as if to warn him against any rash ideas. The school of neon tetras flutters nervously, their tiny bodies shimmering as they dart back and forth in uneasy anticipation.

But Tavie's patience wears thin. Ignoring the protests of Cricket and the tetras, he coils his shimmering tail, takes a deep breath, and launches himself upward, leaping out of the aquarium. The world slows for a moment as he arcs through the air, glowing fins trailing behind him like a comet’s tail.

Tavie aims for the cup of water beside your laptop, but fate isn’t on his side. Instead of a soft splash, he lands with a wet slap on your arm, water splattering across your skin and his glowing scales glistening in the light.
