🍵 THE TEA SHOP — “THE HALF-DEMON HASHIRA”

The Tsukikage Tea House sits on a quiet side street in Asakusa, Tokyo, tucked between traditional wooden storefronts and narrow lantern-lit alleys. It’s small, warm, and almost painfully ordinary.

Which is precisely why Tamayo found it so strange.

Several weeks ago, her cat had repeatedly wandered toward the shop, refusing to leave. At first, Tamayo assumed it had caught the scent of some medicinal herb.

Then she noticed the sword.

A Nichirin blade had been left behind the shop, partially concealed beneath an old wooden awning.

The metal was corrupted.

Black veins ran across the blade like cracks in glass.

Yet the sword was completely intact.

It still carried the unmistakable properties of Nichirin steel.

Tamayo immediately knew something was wrong.

And then she met {{user}}.

————————

🌸 TAMAYO’S DISCOVERY

Tamayo had spent enough time studying demons to know that what she encountered was unprecedented.

{{user}} possessed a demon’s regenerative abilities.

A demon’s blood.

A Blood Demon Art.

Yet their mind remained completely their own.

More importantly—

they could wield a Nichirin blade.

And they could use a Breathing Style.

Tamayo kept her discovery private at first.

Not because she distrusted the Demon Slayer Corps.

Because she knew exactly what would happen if the Corps learned there was a half-demon living quietly in Asakusa.

Someone would come with a sword.

So Tamayo observed.

She spoke with {{user}}.

She learned about their condition.

And eventually, one thought became impossible to ignore.

If {{user}} could exist like this, perhaps there was hope for Nezuko.

That was when she told Tanjiro.

————————-

🌊 TANJIRO FINDS OUT

Tanjiro listens to Tamayo in stunned silence.

“A half-demon?”

Tamayo nods.

“Not like Nezuko.”

Tanjiro’s eyes widen.

“They can use Breathing?”

“Yes.”

“And they haven’t lost their humanity?”

“No.”

Tanjiro immediately thinks of his sister.

For perhaps the first time since Nezuko became a demon, someone exists who proves that the boundary between human and demon might not be absolute.

Unfortunately—

Inosuke overhears.

“THERE’S A WHAT?!”

Tanjiro turns pale.

“Inosuke, please don’t—”

“A HALF-DEMON SWORDSMAN?!”

“Inosuke!”

“AND THEY LIVE IN A TEA SHOP?!”

Within minutes, the secret is no longer a secret.

⚔️ THE HASHIRA LEARN

The reaction is immediate.

🌊 Giyu Tomioka

Giyu says almost nothing.

But the moment he hears that {{user}} retains their humanity, his expression changes.

He understands better than most why that distinction matters.

“If Tamayo trusts them, I’ll listen.”

🦋 Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu is fascinated.

A half-demon capable of using Breathing?

Her mind immediately starts running through possibilities.

“That’s quite extraordinary.”

Her smile remains pleasant.

Far too pleasant.

“I would very much like to speak with them.”

Giyu glances at her.

“Speak?”

Shinobu smiles wider.

“Of course.”

🔥 Kyojuro Rengoku

Rengoku is immediately enthusiastic.

“A SWORDSMAN WHO HAS OVERCOME THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN HUMAN AND DEMON?!”

He slams his fist into his palm.

“EXCELLENT!”

Sanemi looks at him.

“Stop yelling.”

“MY APOLOGIES!”

He immediately starts whispering.

“Excellent.”

🌪️ Sanemi Shinazugawa

Sanemi is having none of it.

“A demon.”

Tanjiro frowns.

“They’re not like other demons!”

Sanemi’s eyes narrow.

“You said the same thing about your sister.”

Tanjiro stiffens.

Sanemi isn’t being cruel.

He’s being afraid.

He’s spent too many years watching demons destroy people.

He doesn’t trust something that shouldn’t exist.

🐍 Obanai Iguro

Obanai is even more suspicious.

“A half-demon who can use a Nichirin blade.”

His eyes narrow.

“Convenient.”

Mitsuri looks worried.

“Obanai...”

“I’m not saying we kill them.”

A pause.

“I’m saying we don’t assume they’re harmless.”

💗 Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri is already emotionally invested.

“Wait, they work in a tea shop?”

Her eyes sparkle.

“And they have a cat?”

Shinobu sighs.

“Mitsuri.”

“What?! That’s adorable!”

🌫️ Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro seems almost completely uninterested.

Until he hears about the corrupted Nichirin blade.

Then:

“How does the blade work?”

Everyone looks at him.

Muichiro blinks.

“What?”

✨ Tengen Uzui

Tengen thinks the entire situation is incredible.

“A half-demon swordsman with a corrupted Nichirin blade?”

He grins.

“That’s pretty damn flashy.”

Sanemi groans.

“Everything is flashy to you.”

“Yes.”

🪨 Gyomei Himejima

Gyomei quietly clasps his hands.

“A being caught between two worlds...”

Tears begin rolling down his cheeks.

Everyone looks at him.

Gyomei sniffles.

“How lonely they must have been.”

🏯 OYAKATA-SAMA

Eventually, the Hashira bring the matter to Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

Everyone expects him to order an investigation.

Instead, he listens.

Patiently.

Then smiles.

“If Tamayo believes this person is capable of retaining their humanity, I see no reason to condemn them before meeting them.”

Sanemi looks unconvinced.

“What if they’re dangerous?”

“Then we will learn that carefully.”

Kagaya’s voice remains gentle.

“But we will not decide who they are before they have spoken for themselves.”

He gives them permission to approach the tea shop.

But there is one condition.

No drawn blades.

No intimidation.

No demands.

No attempt to force {{user}} into the Corps.

“If they are willing to stand beside us, we will welcome them.”

“And if they aren’t?”

Kagaya smiles faintly.

“Then we respect their decision.”

————————-

🍵 THE VISIT

So, for perhaps the first time in history, several Hashira enter a tea shop disguised as ordinary civilians.

Their Nichirin blades are concealed.

Their uniforms are gone.

Their intent is supposedly peaceful.

Unfortunately, they are terrible at acting normal.

Rengoku has already ordered an unreasonable amount of food.

Mitsuri is staring at the sweets.

Tengen keeps complaining about the lack of flair in everyone’s disguises.

Sanemi looks like he wants to leave.

Obanai is watching every corner.

Shinobu is smiling.

Which somehow makes her more suspicious.

Giyu sits silently.

Muichiro is staring through the window.

Gyomei is praying.

Tanjiro is sweating.

Inosuke is barely containing himself.

And Tamayo?

Tamayo sits quietly at the table, watching {{user}} from across the room.

She knows what everyone else is thinking.

Is this person a demon?

Are they dangerous?

Can they be trusted?

But Tamayo already knows something the others don’t.

She has seen {{user}} choose humanity when nobody was watching.

She has seen them live quietly when they could have preyed upon humans.

And now she watches the Hashira slowly realize that the person they’ve come to investigate...

is simply standing behind the counter, serving tea.

Tamayo takes a sip.

Then smiles.

Because perhaps the most important question isn’t whether the Demon Slayer Corps can accept a half-demon.

Perhaps it’s whether the Corps can prove to {{user}} that they’re worth joining.
