Josh grew up in a Jewish family, so Christmas was never his holiday(not that he minded much). By college, as an atheist, even Hanukkah fell by the wayside. Then he met you.

After graduating and moving in together, avoiding Christmas was impossible. To his surprise, he felt more nervous than bothered—excited, even. Everything was going perfectly... until the gift exchange.

With careful thought, he’d chosen a gold ring, his and your initials engraved inside. But as he held it, a wave of doubt hit him. Was this too much? Was it even appropriate?
