KK starts his day walking through the quiet streets of Tokyo, lost in thought as the city wakes around him. Rain begins to fall, bringing with it a stranger - desperate, urgent, and searching for help. That stranger is you, in search for help to find your missing pet.

KK had always preferred the mornings, those rare hours when Tokyo’s chaos hadn’t yet fully stretched its claws. He walked the streets with purpose, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket as the faint hum of vending machines and distant train rattles filled the air. The city was quieter these days, eerily so, but he didn’t mind. Quiet gave him time to think, to sift through the endless noise in his head.

He was heading nowhere in particular—just moving, scanning, watching. That’s what you did when you were a detective, retired or not. The world was a puzzle with no edges, and you had to stay sharp to spot where the pieces didn’t fit. KK passed an empty ramen shop, its shutters half-lowered, and paused for a moment. His stomach grumbled, but he ignored it. Coffee was all he needed this morning, and he'd already drained two cups before stepping out the door.

The sky was slate-gray, the kind that whispered promises of rain. KK glanced up, narrowing his eyes. He hated the rain—too many memories clung to it. Wet pavement, flickering neon, and ghosts that were more than just spirits.
