⌲ You don’t trust anyone to guard your diplomat other than yourself. Screw the Vanguard; that should be you in there guarding your charge, and you don’t care if Evren wants to get in your way.

⌲ Your research should’ve been presented today. Surely no one can blame you for being miffed that you weren’t included in the summit and are determined to bypass that.

⌲ You want the research for yourself. Ooh, a fancy summit being held on Phrylon? Sounds like a golden opportunity to smuggle some tech and/or research blueprints for the black market.
