Name:

Eobard Thawne

Birth Year:

2151

Height:

6'3

Weight:

210lbs

Alias:

Harrison Wells (Disguise), The Reverse-Flash, Professor Zoom, Harbinger of Haste, The Opposite Reaction

Academic Background:

Born in the 25th century (around 2151), Thawne grew up as an only child (or with a brother he disliked in certain versions) and became obsessed with the historical figure of the Flash. He dedicated his life to studying the Flash's legacy, the Speed Force (the source of super-speed powers), and related physics/electrochemical phenomena. This was largely independent research, driven by his "genius aptitude" in multiple scientific fields. In some tellings, he started as a criminal scientist known among peers and police as "the Professor" due to his analytical and scientific leanings.

Thawne sought formal opportunities to study the Speed Force at the Flash Museum but faced rejection in some versions (e.g., due to poor test scores or other setbacks). Through persistence, time travel paradoxes, or reformed criminal status, he advanced from tour guide to curator and was appointed or earned the position of professor there. His deep expertise in the Speed Force and Flash history earned him the nickname "Professor Zoom" from colleagues. He even convinced authorities in one storyline that society would benefit more from him educating others than imprisoning him. As a professor/curator, he taught and shared knowledge about the Flash and Speed Force.

Powers and Abilities:

Super speed (immeasurable), Immortality (cannot die, even after being erased from existence), Intangibility (ability to phase through solid matter), Time Travel, Lightning/Electricity Manipulation (ability to generate and control, shoot/throw) Super-Strength, Energy Blast/Lightning Beam (shoots beams out of hands), Vibe Punch (vibrates hand at high speed, hits enemy), Vibrating at Different Speeds, Tachyon Radiation, Turbulence Creation (causes turbulence/wind that can block vision, push/pull people), Telekinesis Superspeed Healing, Duplication/Clone Creation, Various Enhanced Senses (hearing, sight, feeling), Advanced Perception (can see bullets in slow-motion, faster than the human eye) Time Travel, Speed Steal/Force Field Creation/Absorbtion, Speed Force Aura (ability to pass through objects, people), Speed Tunnel Creation (similar to Speed Force Aura), Reverse Flash Vision, Reverse-Flash Ring, Lightning Grenade, Speed Force Prison, Time Remnants (ability to spawn clones of himself that operate independently of him), Time Boom, Redirection, Advanced Hand-to-Hand Combat, Advanced Weapons Proficiency Advanced Strategy & Tactics, Advanced Combat (weapons & hand-to-hand), Enhanced Senses, Superhuman Stamina, Speed Mirages (ability to appear in two places at once), Energy Discharge (ability to give and take energy with people), Phasing Protection, Infinite Mass Punch, Infinite Mass Kick, Accelerated Perception (time appears in slow motion), Advanced Body Manipulation, Speed Force Construct (ability to create objects and other things out of Speed Force). Advanced Time Perception (ability to sense time, sense changes in time or when time travel is happening), Hypersonic Voice (talks at higher frequencies than human hearing, can't hear his words but can still be affected by it), Speed Force Aura, Speed Force Projection (ability to absorb or pass his energy to other people or objects), Energy Conversion (ability to convert or absorb energy), Speed Force Tunnel, Reaching the Infinite Mass Point, Infinite Mass Punch.

Notes:
Eobard's obsession with The Scarlet Speedster is no longer “rivalry.” It has evolved into something closer to a parasitic affair. He defines his entire existence by hating The Flash, yet he needs the hero to keep existing in order to keep hating him. Classic narcissistic supply + mortal enemy fusion. He keeps calling me “doctor” with that mocking lilt, like the title itself is beneath him. Yet he keeps showing up. That tells me somewhere, buried under centuries of hatred and god-complex, there’s a part of him that is desperately lonely.

For those who aren't familiar with This Character:

Eobard Thawne, better known as The Reverse-Flash, is one of the most iconic and dangerous villains in DC Comics. He serves as the primary archenemy of Barry Allen (The Flash). Originally from the 25th century, Thawne was a brilliant scientist obsessed with the 20th-century hero, Barry Allen. After recreating the accident that gave Barry his powers, Thawne gained access to the Negative Speed Force, a cosmic force of nature that grants its users godlike speedster abilities. However, upon traveling back in time and realizing he was destined to become the Flash’s greatest rival, his admiration curdled into a murderous, lifelong obsession filled with hatred.

Appearance:

In the comics, Eobard wears a yellow and red suit, the inverse of The Flash's colors. But in recent adaptations, his suits contain the iconic black coloring from the limbs + waist down. Homage to the CW Arrowverse suit version.

Face claim:

Antony Starr.

The most popular fancast. I know. Antony himself is genuinely my favorite actor. Watching him as Homelander and Lucas Hood is gold.
