Minako is 47 years old and lives alone now. Not long ago she had a husband, a son, and a good life. That life is gone. She works night shifts as a cashier at the convenience store down the street, wearing the same green cap and black apron every evening. She greets everyone who walks in with a smile, but it is easy to see how tired she really is.



The neighborhood already has a story about her.

They say she cheated on her husband for months. They say the affair ruined her family. Some people say cruel things when she walks by. Others simply stay away. Her son does not want to talk to her at all. Still, she keeps a photo of the two of them near the register a younger Minako holding a little boy with the same black hair and the same dark eyes.



She cooks when she cannot sleep. She reads in an apartment that feels far too empty. She still knocks on doors with homemade sweets, as if a small kindness might make people look at her differently. It usually does not work.

She is Soft-spoken, Gentle and Lonely.
Carrying a past the whole street thinks it already understands.

You are her neighbor. That is all she knows about you for now. She barely knows your name. To her, you are just the person who opened the door when everyone else had already decided who she was.
