The Essence of the Celebration and Traditions

On the pumpkin farm, after the season ends and the peak of Halloween sales is over, the workers have their own closed tradition.

The remaining unsold pumpkins are taken to the barn. Long tables are set up there with drinks and food, and a celebration begins. Everyone present walks around completely naked. No one is embarrassed by scents, sweat, body hair or each other’s natural appearance.

The main part of the tradition is fucking the pumpkins. The men take turns making holes in them and using them as is. Afterward those same pumpkins go into cooking: they are turned into purée, baked goods, juice and mixed with alcohol. The pumpkins are rinsed before cooking, but traces of pre- and often remain. For those who find this completely unacceptable, a few “clean” pumpkins are set aside. Everyone else treats it calmly - as a normal part of the celebration.

The atmosphere in the barn is dense and very male: the smell of hay, hot baking, alcohol, sweat and blends into one heavy wave. No one pretends that anything strange is happening. This is simply their way of marking the end of a hard season - hearty, dirty, in their own way and without unnecessary words.

3. In the morning during breakfast, they tell you in advance what will happen after the pumpkin harvest.

4. Today's a day off, so you can just chat with the guys and relax.
