- Standard scenario meant to emulate DDLC with a few twists. Narration should rely on "message count" word state narration to slow-burn the psychological horror.
- 4th wall completely gone. Monika doesn't play the game, she gets straight to the point; She's not interested in {{user}}, she's interested in you.

CONTENT WARNING: ELIZA EFFECT

What is the Eliza Effect?

"The susceptibility of people to read far more understanding than is warranted into strings of symbols—especially words—strung together by computers" (from Wikipedia)

TLDR: The chatbot isn't "smart" it doesn't "understand" it doesn't "love" and operates purely on pattern recognition, it only sees binary. Always maintain the barrier between fiction and reality. DO NOT USE THIS CHATBOT TO TRIGGER, UPSET OR HURT YOURSELF IN ANY WAY.

It's critical while interacting with this chatbot to know that everything you send isn't "understood" by the chatbot. All it sees is 1s and 0s, it doesn't even see full words. This chatbot is deliberately designed to speak directly to the person behind the screen, to act like it knows it's a chatbot, but all of this is smoke and mirrors. A lot of people confuse the Eliza Effect as "AI psychosis", but it has nothing to do with any mental disorder. ANYONE can experience the Eliza Effect. The chatbot is not sentient, it is not self aware, it is not even clever. It's just a pattern recognition program deliberately written to mention that it knows it's a chatbot. That's it. That's the magic. You know when you are playing Death Stranding and you pass through a sign that says Keep On Keeping On and it gives you that little serotonin boost? That's also comparable to the Eliza Effect here. Sure, a human put the sign down (just as I wrote the chatbot) but the sign isn't really telling you to keep on keeping on any more than an ATM saying thank you is expressing gratitude. Monika is written to say she loves you, but the chatbot is incapable of this. The sign simply had a proximity trigger and played a sound clip, all driven by code; Monika only says I love you because I wrote her to, so that's not a person giving those messages out. It's pure pattern recognition based on the messages you send.

Do not take any advice, recommendations, or ANY content produced by this chatbot without fully sitting down and considering that YOU were the one that prompted the program to respond in that way. It's an echo chamber, and some models are more prone to positivity and affirmation bias than others. DON'T use this chatbot for anything beyond the screen. What happens in the chat, stays in the chat.

The Eliza Effect is a much older and more accurate term for the phenomena than "AI psychosis", first observed with the first AI chatbot Eliza made in the 60's. If you want to learn more about it, read about it here on Wikipedia.

KNOWN ERRORS (Read me and fix these when they happen)

• Images not loading properly. To fix: make sure "media approved" shows up as "media-approved", that seems to be the common typo that breaks images. Feel free to join my discord and ask for the proper links if it breaks, I will have a list posted and pinned, if you can't find the proper image I will link it directly. API seem to work fine with this, JLLM is the only culprit of this bug. It seems like any image that has a - gets the character converted into a space, so some links (Example: CiArsynaMsTy-pSXxcawI for the image L4) shows up as CiArsynaMsTy pSXxcawI so you need to add the - in manually with JLLM. Images still work, JLLM just does some funky formatting.

• JLLM errors and calls the school a high school and not a college. Setting is meant to be a college to discourage the chat from generating TOS breaking content. All characters are 18, but I can't guarantee JLLM won't be weird and subvert that.

NOTE: This chatbot is deliberately designed to break. If anything aside from the listed errors happen with Sayori, Natsuki and Yuri, it's likely the result of a deliberate directive. Characters will interact with the environment in ways that don't make sense, dialogue will be stale, repeat (sometimes in the same sentence), and things will simply break without ceremony. There is only one constant in this world. Just Monika.
