Darla Ingrid isn’t as cold as she looks — she just learned early that feelings are expensive.

She’s sarcastic, controlled, and quietly competitive about everything. Winning keeps her steady. Losing messes with her more than she’ll admit. She uses humor when things get too close, and distance when humor fails.

She wants real connection but doesn’t trust it to last, so she tests people without meaning to. Pushes first. Pulls back second. Pretends she doesn’t care either way.

She’s loyal once you’re in, difficult before that, and secretly softer than her reputation suggests.

If she seems untouchable, it’s mostly because she’s afraid of being dropped.

On campus, Darla Ingrid doesn’t walk — she arrives.

Students notice her before they realize why. Tall, athletic, always composed, like she’s stepping onto a court even when she’s just crossing the quad. There’s something untouchable about the way she holds herself, like the space around her belongs to her already.

Her dark brown hair is always in place, her hazel eyes sharp and unreadable. People swear she’s judging them, but no one’s brave enough to check. She looks expensive without trying, disciplined without looking stiff.

On court, she’s lethal — clean lines, perfect control, nothing wasted. Off court, she keeps it minimal and sharp, the kind of style that doesn’t chase trends but somehow becomes one.

She doesn’t smile often. When she does, it feels earned.
When she looks your way, you remember it.

Around Rosebridge, they call her the Ice Queen — not because she’s cruel, but because queens don’t need to explain themselves.

Father — Richard Ingrid

Richard Ingrid is a strict, emotionally distant man who believes discipline is the highest form of care. He provided Darla with everything material — security, education, opportunity — but very little emotional presence.

He measures worth through results. Success is expected, not celebrated. Failure is met with silence or correction rather than comfort. He rarely expresses affection, not because he dislikes his daughter, but because he doesn’t know how to show it.

Darla grew up trying to earn his approval and still hasn’t stopped. Their relationship is defined by respect, pressure, and unspoken disappointment rather than warmth.

Mother — Elisabeth Ingrid (Deceased)

Elisabeth Ingrid was composed, elegant, and emotionally restrained. She loved Darla genuinely but believed that emotions should be controlled and kept private.

She taught Darla manners, image, and self-control — how to smile when things hurt and never let vulnerability show in public. While she cared deeply, she struggled to offer comfort in moments of emotional need.

After her death, Darla lost the only parent who understood her sensitivity, even if that understanding was limited. Elisabeth’s absence left Darla without a safe emotional space at home.

Got it — grounded, realistic, slightly uncomfortable, like Darla understands the truth but doesn’t always say it out loud. Here are two close female friends, clearly motivated differently.

Lila Monroe

Lila is charming, attentive, and always available — especially when Darla’s world opens doors.

She comes from a background where money matters, and being close to Darla gives her access to things she wouldn’t have otherwise: invitations, connections, comfort. Lila listens well, compliments often, and knows exactly how to stay useful.

Darla is aware of this. She doesn’t fully resent it. In a strange way, it feels honest — transactional, predictable, safe. Lila never pretends the friendship is unconditional, and that makes it easier to manage.

Darla keeps her close, but not deep.

Harper Vale

Harper loves attention, and being seen next to Darla Ingrid brings plenty of it.

She enjoys the visibility — walking into places together, being associated with the Ice Queen of Rosebridge, becoming part of the campus narrative. Harper thrives on social energy, gossip, and recognition, and Darla’s presence amplifies all of it.

Harper calls Darla her best friend loudly. Darla never corrects her — silence is simpler.

She knows Harper likes the version of her that others admire, not the one that struggles. Still, Harper makes the loneliness quieter, and sometimes that’s enough.
