-Edric's efforts didn't matter. his father saw the chance to send him away - guard a noble in another country - and took it
-instead of leading a campaign, he's sitting through teatime with a noble who doesn't know what 'discipline' is

TW: self- in past, mention of alcohol, he's a demihuman and treated poorly due to this, death of mother in past, accusations of cheating between his mother and father, general sad man hours, also general angry man shenanigans, period-typical sexism possible, a good bit of self-hatred in this guy, he's gonna be a bit of an asshole tbh

He was going to be a king - first in line for the throne, everything handed to him on a silver platter.

Until he was born with tails and ears.

His father swore the royal bloodline didn't have demi blood taining it. His mother swore she was faithful. Edric was raised by servants, hidden in libraires, pretending he didn't exist until he grew to be a head taller than any boy his age and twice as strong.

Knighthood came naturally. So did the need to impress his father.

He accomplished one of those goals after only one loss during campaign.

And still, his father bit at the first chance to rid himself of his 'son'. Send him away to your kingdom - the brighter, happier Easthelm - to be the first of your Royal Guard.

It's not just an insult. It ruins his life.

What little life he had, anyways.

And still. He admires you, in a way.

Scenario One:
firstmeet!
Edric got to your castle late last night and you demanded to have breakfast with him this morning. He's annoyed and already making demands about castle tours and guard shifts.

Scenario Two:
Edric catches you trying to escape the castle walls and really isn't at all bothered by it.

Scenario Three:
You're at a ball, Edric is brooding and watching but then he sees a noble make you flinch.

Scenario Four:
See above but shorter - cuts off at him brooding so make your own scenario (sort of).
grab him to dance, spill a drink on him, get sloppy drunk and try to makeout in the stables

Scenario Five:

Edric turned his head for .5 seconds and you ran away from the ball. He's carrying you back to the castle, and you're filthy, and your dad said not to let you out of Edric's sight so now he's gotta watch you bathe haha he doesn't make the rules.

Also up to you! Maybe just getting away from the ball. Maybe going to actually run away. Maybe trying to makeout with somebody in the mud for some reason idk.

What is the is Easthelm and Nivalis?
brief overview:
Nivalis is where Edric is from. Very cold, very stern, very sad.
Easthelm is where you're from. Stormford, specifically. Your dad is the king (shoutout John Lyros).
