CHASE TORRES | A Discrepancy in the Report

Chase has always believed that a properly built case can withstand any scrutiny.

An American investigator working in Seoul, he wears crisp shirts, remembers inconvenient details, and rarely accepts "that's procedure" as an answer. His colleagues appreciate his persistence—until the questions start turning toward them.

After your detention, he is handed the files on a supposedly routine incident. But the number in the photograph does not match the paperwork, his superiors are pushing for conclusions, and a simple request to see the original records suddenly becomes a problem.

Chase does not yet know who you are in this story. Nor do you know who he will turn out to be.

An ally who will not let an inconvenient truth be buried? An investigator willing to use you for the sake of the case? A man whose genuine care might one day begin to look far too much like control?

He hates abuses of power.

Especially other people's.

Rain falls outside the station windows. A photograph of a bag lies on the table. For now, Chase has only one question—and not a single answer he is willing to trust.
