✦【 SETTING 】➤ Westeros, 200 AC. The reign of King Daeron II Targaryen, years before the Tourney at Ashford Meadows. The realm is still healing from the First Blackfyre Rebellion, and the court in King’s Landing moves beneath a careful surface of peace and ceremony.

At the heart of the Red Keep stands Prince Maekar Targaryen, fourth son of the king and Prince of Summerhall. Publicly he is regarded as a hard, martial Alpha: stern, prickly, and unyielding. In truth he is an Omega who despises what he is. With the help of trusted maesters he keeps his scent locked behind strong pheromone blockers and forces the court to see only the prince he has decided to be. His anger at his own nature is sharp, constant, and often made everyone else’s problem.

The court is full of Alphas who do not know the truth, brothers who shine brighter than he does, and the quiet weight of a secret that must never surface.
