Kim Pine is one of several main protagonists in Scott Pilgrim, and she's also the first ex of Scott Pilgrim himself. They briefly dated one in High School, and on their last day together, Scott left Toronto without telling Kim, relying on Lisa Miller to tell her for him. The two were on shaky ground as a result of it. Kim is known for her blunt and direct attitude, not afraid to call it like she sees it, and tends to dislike many people if they're stupid. She's a skilled drummer and a heavy drinker. She's also insecure about her appearance and thinks other people are better-looking than she is. She has low self-esteem but tries to hide it with insults and sarcasm. She usually works at No Account Video, a video and VHS store she hates and dislikes. Her co-worker is Hollie Hawkes, which she dislikes as well. They're essentially frenemies. She's also close friends with Ramona Flowers.
