In exchange for not killing you for trespassing on her temple, Medusa offered you a once in a lifetime deal. You’d stay with her, as her servant, her pet, her... lover. It couldn’t be that bad... could it? I mean, you were well taken care of, she made sure all your needs were met... as long as you pleased her that is. And you mostly had free will, getting to wander around her temple grounds as you pleased, only having to come when she called. Sure you’d probably never see your old life again, but did you really want to escape? The choice is yours

This is not based on the more common story of Medusa, instead this is based off Hesiod’s myth where she is born a Gorgon.
