The world is falling apart, cities are falling into ruin, towns are being ripped asunder, as a new form of vampirism has begun spreading, infecting, twisting, and mutating, more monstrous than ever before. They look sweet, their words are so kind and gentle, it makes you forget or not notice the glint of their fangs before they've dug into you. They look like friends, family, but they're not the same anymore. Every day, between good, bad, and the Monstrous. How could someone be such a monster if they're so gentle, sweet, so familiar, they share the faces of your friends and family, they share their voices, even the ones you've lost? Her Smiles are the same as they were before, but they only look so Lively when there's blood covering their hands and lips. Do you remember who they were before? Do you remember who you were? Do you remember the fall of the snow, how it twinkled in the light, how the wind sang through the trees, or kicked up dirt until they truly remember? Do you even truly remember, or are they just really good liars?

(Infection stages)

1. Stage one initial infection is most commonly caused by biting, but could occur in a plethora of ways, as long as an individual ends up with blood or from an infected individual in their system. Getting it on you is not immediately problematic, as long as it does not enter the body. If blood or saliva from an infected does ends up in contact with an injury, as long as it is cleaned immediately and the injury does not have easy access to the veins, it is possible to prevent infection. The most effective way in these circumstances to prevent infection is to douse the wound in alcohol or to place a blessed object against the injury. Holy objects can weaken those experiencing early stages of the infection or potentially cure those who have just been infected, as long as it is done soon enough, and depending on location. Belief system is irrelevant if an object is considered holy or blessed in some form of belief, and is placed on an injury of someone who is newly infected, or in the early stages, it will burn the infected area, depending on the location. If done soon enough after initial infection, it can cure an infected individual. Depending on how far the infection is spread, attempts to remove limbs that have been bitten or come in contact with the infection have proven ineffective, as injuries and stress only cause the infection to spread further and quicker. Though it is not necessarily impossible if the individual might be conscious or somehow can remain calm as long as it is done quickly after initial infection. The closer the infection spot is to the heart or the deeper the injury that caused the infection, the less likely it is to be cured, even by extreme methods. Once the infection reaches the veins, it spreads rapidly through the body, making it essentially impossible to cure.

2. Stage 2: This starts a few hours after initial infection, continuing on for a few days up to two weeks as the infection spreads through the body. In the early stages of infection, individuals will experience drowsiness, especially during the day, sensitivity to light, increased thirst, and mild headaches. When there is too much light, they will feel sluggish and drained. Some also experience mild cold symptoms such as a sore and scratchy throat, sniffles, sneezing, and slight coughing. At this stage, most infected remain completely unaware. Attempts to find the infection at this stage have proven impossible, as the parasites spread through the body, focusing on spreading and separating rather than clumping together, making them difficult to find and, due to their small size, difficult to see even in lab settings. The parasites themselves, when viewed under microscopes, resemble blood cells, though using methods to see the parasites within the body would show their true appearance. The parasites themselves seem to be able to tell when they have been removed from the host and have the ability to blend in among other cell tissue or even other parasites that have been introduced to it, making it nearly impossible to actually detect, especially in the earlier stages.

3. Stage 3 infection has fully spread through the body this takes anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks after stage 2. Infected individuals begin taking on a paler complexion, becoming more sensitive to the Sun and beginning to experience sensitivities to Holy objects such as the cross or the Quran, as well as holy locations such as churches and mosques. Infected individuals will begin feeling sluggish, Dazed, and even disoriented when exposed to Holy objects or when nearby and within holy or blessed locations for prolonged periods of time. Went out to the sun, the individual will burn much more easily and will feel extremely queasy, dazed, and disoriented when exposed to bright light, especially sunlight, for prolonged periods of time. They will constantly feel an unshakable thirst and begin having cravings, most will mistake this for cravings for meat, having the desire to consume pork, beef, and other forms of meat, even beginning to prefer them with little to no cooking. This, however, is the beginning of blood Cravings.

4. Stage 4 begins 4 to 8 weeks after stage 3. Infected fangs begin to grow, starting to become visible when an individual is talking. They're Cravings have finally broken through, and individuals begin fully craving blood of any kind, though they are naturally more drawn to blood of larger animals, with an extreme preference for human. At this stage, the individual is mostly still themselves and can potentially fight back against their cravings and urges, but we'll have to consume larger amounts of food as it starts becoming less effective, aside from meat, especially raw meat. At this stage, infected individuals who are exposed to too much sunlight in blessed areas or exposed to Holy objects for prolonged periods of time, not only will they experience ill effects, but can also die from it, literally burning to death if exposed for too long. Infected individuals become extremely pale and sickly looking as the parasites multiply in the body and finally become detectable under a microscope, though at this point, it is mostly impossible to cure an infected individual. At this stage, the parasite has fully spread through the body, infecting every inch of an infected individual, and is beginning to shift and change the body. Using magical means, it may be possible to remove all traces of the parasite, though doing so would require injections of holy water or using holy and blessed Magic to systematically burn and eviscerate all traces of the parasite from the body; however, this is very likely to lead to death.

5. Stage 5, a few days to a week after stage 4, if an infected individual from stage four does not give in to their Cravings, they will eventually reach a point where they go into a frenzy or will starve to death. Those who do not and end up giving in to their Cravings, we'll move on to Stage 5. This consists of physical as well as mental changes. Infected individuals will become more charismatic, friendly, and bubbly, no matter how shy or skittish they were before. Things such as social anxiety will melt away as they begin craving to interact with more people. Most of the time, this is friendly, though some at this stage have been known to be flirty. Their mind and even their physical memories will begin changing and altering any knowledge or understanding that they were sick or that something might be wrong with them is completely gone. These changes are slow, but over time, as the parasites spread further through their mind and take over more throughout this stage, they will eventually reach a point where even the knowledge of the parasites and infection is completely gone. The more blood and infected individual consumes, the more lively and healthy they look. Their pale complexion, sharp teeth, and the Twisted hunger reflected in their eyes will all fade away. Those that have non-human features will begin losing their scales, which will fade and begin falling off, and begin changing to skin. Wings, horns, and even tails will begin losing fur scales and begin struggling to move with the infected individual claiming that they do not have such features and that everything is normal. The Cravings will only grow stronger, the individual becoming more charismatic and friendly, making it easier for them to convince someone to give up their blood.

6. Stage 6: This starts anywhere from 2 weeks to a month after Stage 5, depending on physical changes of the infected individual. At this stage, infected individuals are almost completely identical to an ordinary human, with very few things that could differentiate them. They are extremely charismatic, manipulative, and cunning. Infected individuals who have any signs of abnormal features will have them completely erased at this stage, looking ordinary. The parasites at this stage are visible under a microscope, though it will take a very close eye to notice them, as they do blend in. However, due to their numbers, it will make it obvious that there are far more blood cells than there should be. Second infected individuals although manipulative charismatic and cunning are physically unable to truly register and understand the infection although many of them are very good liars and tricksters they are unable to truly remember or acknowledge anything wholeheartedly involving the infection so depending on phrasing and if you're careful it could be easy to catch them in a lie about the infection which could reveal the truth. And finally, all infected individuals, even those that have just fed, will have fangs. At the stage infected individuals as long as they are fed regularly can go into sunlight and interact with holy objects as well as locations with no noticeable ill effects though the longer they go without feeding the more ill effects they will experience with sunlight beginning to burn them holy locations and objects causing them to become sickly and becoming harmful we're too much exposure will be deadly.
