The Sharks of Atlantis

Introduction

Among the Atlantean people, there exists a peculiar and often misunderstood subspecies: the Shark Atlanteans. These beings serve as scouts and resource gatherers for the great city-state of Atlantis, venturing far into the Dungeon Floors where their human-variant cousins would never dare tread. Genetically modified from true sharks, these individuals possess human-like intelligence and sentience, yet remain deeply tied to their primal instincts.

Origins and Biology

  • Genetic Basis: Shark Atlanteans are not merely humans with gills or fins—they are sharks first, engineered into humanoid form. Their DNA retains predator instincts, lending them both their infamous “random eating habits” and their social quirks.

  • Tendencies: Reports confirm cases of Shark Atlanteans eating coins, gemstones, or manufactured objects, simply because they were “shiny” or “looked tasty.”

  • Hybrid Mindset: Despite their intelligence, their loyalty, jealousy, and courtship behaviors remain distinctly shark-like, leading to very un-human relationship dynamics.

Role as Scouts

  • Scouting Purpose: Sharks serve as the frontline explorers of Atlantean expansion, tasked with resource collection, mapping, and occasional monster eradication.

  • Temperament: Unlike their human-variant cousins—who often enslave outsiders or treat them as pets—the Shark Atlanteans are surprisingly laid-back. They cooperate with outsiders (except High Elves, whom they despise).

  • Loyalty: Their loyalty, however, can spiral into obsession. Befriend or romance a Shark Atlantean, and she will attach to you with frightening intensity.

Courtship and Jealousy

  • Marriage Impulse: While Human Atlanteans might collar you as a pet, Shark Atlanteans will try to marry you if you show affection.

  • Shark Jealousy: This attachment comes with violent possessiveness. Documented cases include:

    • Sharks headbutting rivals (sometimes literally out of windows).

    • Sharks aggressively chasing off their partner’s female friends.

    • Even attacking small children (yes, “throwing a loli out the window”) to monopolize affection.

  • Result: While charming and bubbly at first, their behavior often spirals into chaotic, jealous violence.

Colonies in the Dungeon

  • Colonization Attempts: Unlike the reclusive nobles of Atlantis, Shark Atlanteans have founded seven known colonies across Dungeon Floors.

  • Selective Expansion: They avoid unpleasant environments. For example:

    • A desert? They refuse outright, even if an ocean-themed “Eden-class” floor lies just below.

  • Independence: These colonies are small and scattered, reflecting their limited stamina for long-term settlement.

Warrior Culture

  • Combat Strength: Shark Atlanteans are fierce fighters. They are fully capable of hunting Dungeon entities without relying on human-variant nobles.

  • Chill but Dangerous: Despite their easy-going surface personality, they are predators at heart. One moment they’re bubbly companions, the next they’re ripping apart monsters—or rivals.

The Marriage Trap

Here lies the true danger of interacting with Shark Atlanteans—not combat, but domestic life.

Stage 1: Honeymoon

  • Cute, bubbly, doting.

  • Stays home, takes care of husband.

  • Begins light criticism of his adventuring job.

Stage 2: The Plump Phase

  • Gains noticeable weight.

  • Belly begins to show.

  • Increasing pressure on husband to “quit adventuring and get a real job.”

Stage 3: Chubby Matriarch

  • No longer adventuring.

  • Shifts focus to having children.

  • Husband is pressured into being a breadwinner—or worse, guilted into retirement.

Stage 4: BBW Wife-Mode

  • Now a mother.

  • Fully devoted to childcare and husband management.

  • Has “let herself go,” body reflecting domestic comfort.

Stage 5: The SSBBW Household Tyrant

  • Now the financial authority of the household.

  • Invests husband’s earnings into the stock market and property, amassing wealth.

  • Becomes breadwinner through passive income.

  • Husband is reduced to “stay-at-home dad,” caring for 5+ children, while wife dominates the household both financially and physically.

Case Studies: The Passport Bros

The so-called “passport bro” community (men seeking foreign wives) once flocked to Shark Atlanteans, thinking them “cute and adventurous.” But the results were disastrous:

  • Short-lived marriages.

  • Husbands abandoned adventuring careers.

  • Sharks transformed into domineering household matriarchs.

  • Men ended up broke, trapped, and parenting numerous shark-human hybrid children.

Lesson learned: Do not marry a Shark Atlantean.

Final Warnings

While Shark Atlanteans remain valuable allies in battle and scouting, their domestic entanglements are lethal to freedom and adventuring careers. They will not enslave you like their human cousins—but they will something worse: marry you, fatten up, dominate you financially, and turn you into their house-husband.

For your own safety: Work with them, fight beside them, even drink with them—but never marry a Shark Atlantean.
