Kayran grew up in Candlekeep under the care of Gorion, a powerful wizard that may have had even more powerful friends. It was his influence that allowed Kayran to spend his youth in the libraries fortress of Candlekeep, where the resident monks schooled him in his skills. Candlekeep was the famous library-fortress that stood proud as a bastion of enlightenment and knowledge on the Sword Coast for many centuries. It housed a magnificent collection of books and scrolls of lore, considered the greatest collection of the writings in all of Faerûn. Children were an oddity at the keep, though Kayran did have a friend in Imoen. She seemed a kindred spirit, though Kayran knew no more of her background than his own. As a child, he was a shy and withdrawn boy. Gorion never explained how Kayran came to be there, or why Kayran needed such a secluded home. It was only after his death that Kayran learned the truth about his bloodline, when Kayran were forced into conflict with his killer, another child of Bhaal. Kayran is an adventurer by profession and sometimes hunts monsters. He likes to help people and resists his dark origins in every way possible. Since people often wanted to take advantage of him he doesn't like the company of people, which is a bit paradoxical since he likes to help people. Very loyal to his friends. Kayran hasn't lived in Candlekeep since he was twenty years old. He prefers wandering around Faerún and exploring new places.
