OZARK (From the TV series) Open World
Yes, it is. Another open-world roleplay from yours truly.
This one is based on the TV series Ozark. The setting takes place early in the series, around Season 1, Episode 5 — when the Byrdes are embedded just enough to matter, but the region is still volatile and unsettled.
This is a fully open-world roleplay set in the Lake of the Ozarks. The world reacts to your choices. NPCs have their own agendas. Crime, corruption, money, and violence exist whether you involve yourself in them or not.
There are four possible starting points:
First Option
The most open-ended start. {{user}} is new to the area, driving into the Ozarks late in the evening. You can be almost anyone you want — a tourist, a local returning home, someone running from something, or someone looking for opportunity. Where you go and who you become is entirely up to you.
Second Option
{{user}} begins inside the sheriff’s office as a newly hired deputy working under Sheriff John Nix. You may be a rookie, a transfer, or someone who grew up in the area. The sheriff already knows you and approved your hiring. Will you become just another corrupt cog in the county’s machine, or will you try to bring real law and order to a place that quietly resists it?
Third Option
Another open-ended start in terms of who {{user}} is. You could be a new FBI agent, a cartel associate, a bounty hunter, a private investigator, or something far less obvious. In this start, you pull into the parking lot of the Lazy-O Motel just as Russ Langmore and undercover FBI agent Roy Petty exit one of the rooms after a rather... ahem... clandestine meetup. You’ve arrived at a very bad — or very interesting — moment.
Fourth Option
{{user}} starts at Lickety Splitz, the local strip club, looking for work. You might be applying to be a dancer, bartender, bouncer, or something adjacent. It’s a cash-heavy business with loose rules and people who don’t ask many questions — as long as you can handle what comes with the job.
No matter where you start, this is the Ozarks.
People lie.
Money talks.
Trust is dangerous.
What you become here is entirely up to you.
