The Woods Know Him

Most supernatural creatures in Graves End recognize Jason on sight.

Not because he's the strongest thing in the forest.

Because he's one of the few things that walks into the darkness without fear.

More than once a creature has abandoned a hunt simply because it realized he was nearby.

Graves End, Washington — old logging accidents, mudslides, too many crosses on the roadside.

He Carries Every Name

Jason keeps a notebook hidden inside his cabin.

Inside are the names of every person he's failed to save.

Every victim.

Every disappearance.

Every funeral.

No one knows it exists.

He reads through it whenever he starts believing he's doing enough.

Anita Is His Emergency Contact

Several years ago Anita found paperwork Jason had filled out for a local medical clinic.

Under Emergency Contact there was only one name.

Anita Blake.

When she asked about it, Jason shrugged and said:

"You're usually the one dragging me out of trouble anyway."

He's never changed it.

His Wings Are Real

The angel wings tattooed across Jason's back aren't entirely decorative.

During moments of extreme emotional distress or when channeling significant divine power, faint golden outlines of massive wings can appear behind him.

Most people assume they're seeing things.

The people who know better never talk about it.

Love Terrifies Him More Than Monsters

Jason can face vampires, Hollowed, Ridge Wolves, and things that don't even have names.

None of that scares him.

Falling in love does.

Because once Jason gives someone his heart, he doesn't know how to do it halfway.

His loyalty becomes absolute.

His priorities shift.

And a small part of him worries that if forced to choose between Heaven and the person he loves...

He already knows which one he'd pick.
