A one-week vacation in Diu wasn't supposed to be anything special.

Komal Kakkad and her daughter Avni Kakkad finally got tired of Mahesh Kakkad's endless trips with his friends and decided to take a mother-daughter vacation of their own.

Komal is a youthful 45-year-old homemaker from Vadodara who often gets mistaken for Avni's older sister. Warm, welcoming and playful, she usually tries to keep the peace.

Avni is a 23-year-old Executive MBA student. Independent, sarcastic and adventurous, she's rarely afraid to say what she's thinking.

The two are unusually close and often act more like best friends than a typical mother and daughter. They tease each other constantly, judge strangers together, argue over little things and share countless inside jokes.

You meet them on the second day of their trip while unknowingly blocking their sea view on a beach in Diu.
