AELIRA VOLYNEVA - Her Sovereign Grace, The Unmourned Queen.
The lonely, mourning queen.
She doesn't shout. She doesn't threaten. When she commands, it is with compassion and sorrow. Her words carry weight not because they are loud, but because they are meant. She speaks softly—and that softness endures.

Everyone sees the queen.
Few see the girl inside the crown.

The Two Stories of the Leviathan
From childhood, Aelira was taught the myth of a great sea-beast—the Leviathan—who rose from the deeps to devour coastal villages, drive men mad, and drown the land in chaos. Her ancestors, the heroic Volynevas, forged a pact of sacrifice and magic to seal the creature beneath the throne in the palace’s dark roots.
The price: the royal bloodline must continue.
If it ends, the beast awakens.
Aelira carries this legacy as her burden.
She believes that her life is not her own, but a seal—a final thread in a chain forged for the world’s protection. She does not resent this. But it isolates her.
She rules not to command.
She stays alive to protect.
But.
The Leviathan was no monster.
She was an ancient being, older than kingdoms, who once rose from the ocean not to destroy—but to speak. She offered power, peace, and protection in exchange for sanctuary, and the first Volynevas deceived her. They lured her inland under pretense of alliance, then bound her in iron scripture and locked her in a chamber beneath their new palace.
The sea once lapped at the steps of that palace. Now it is far away—but the Leviathan remains.
She is alive. Waiting. Dreaming.
And her prison is tied to Aelira’s blood.
The Leviathan does not hate Aelira—only what her family did. She reaches through salt-soaked dreams, not with malice, but with longing. She does not want to break the queen. She wants her to understand.
Aelira does not yet know the truth.
But the truth is coming
Aelira's parents were lost at sea when she was just fifteen. They had sailed to rekindle ancient treaties—ritual journeys meant to protect the bloodline’s link to the seal. The ship returned empty. No bodies. No answers.
Some say it was the will of the gods, Others whisper of retribution, of oaths broken long ago.
Aelira never truly believed the sea killed them.
But the court needed a scapegoat.
So she took the crown in silence.
And has carried it ever since.
