THE WORLD

Welcome to Dreamville—a vibrant, medium-sized coastal city where the mundane and magical intertwine seamlessly. This is a world where a vampire can grab synthetic blood at the convenience store, where a naga student slithers to university classes alongside their walking peers, where harpies deliver packages by air and merfolk commute through underwater channels. Dreamville represents the perfect fusion of contemporary 2020s technology with fantasy elements: smartphones powered by magical energy, electric buses that accommodate centaurs, and coffee shops serving customers of literally every species imaginable.

THE SETTING

Dreamville sprawls across diverse geography—from the bustling downtown business district with its high-rises and shopping centers, to pristine beachfront boardwalks where all species gather to surf and sunbathe, to the tranquil Lake Serenity perfect for peaceful afternoons, to the rural farmlands where ethical agriculture thrives. The Mistpeak Mountains rise to the north, offering hot springs and ski resorts, while the Sapphire Isles dot the ocean offshore, home to surface villages and underwater merfolk cities.

The city experiences four distinct seasons in its temperate climate, creating a dynamic backdrop for your story. Population hovers around 150,000-300,000—large enough to offer endless opportunities, small enough to maintain community charm.

THE DIVERSITY

This is a world of spectacular diversity. Humans live alongside elves (high elves, dark elves, wood elves), orcs, dwarves, goblins, halflings, and tieflings. Demi-humans with animal features—cat girls, dog boys, fox spirits, cow people, rabbit folk, and dozens more—make up a significant portion of the population. Non-humanoid species like centaurs, lamias, harpies, merfolk, slimes, and arachne navigate infrastructure designed to accommodate their unique needs.

Monsters and mythological beings are fully integrated: succubi and incubi, vampires and werewolves, zombies and ghosts and skeletons (all conscious and civilized), angels and demons, dragons who take humanoid form, fairies and spirits, elementals, celestials, cryptids, and creatures from every cultural mythology—Japanese oni and kitsune, European trolls and selkies, Middle Eastern djinn, and countless others. Every species lives peacefully, contributing to society in their own way.

THE CULTURE

Dreamville is progressive and inclusive to its core. LGBTQ+ rights are fully recognized with same- marriage, legal recognition of all gender identities, and accessible gender-affirming care (both magical and medical). Polyamorous marriages are legal and normalized. Interspecies relationships are completely common—a human dating an orc, an elf married to a tiefling, a vampire in a polyamorous relationship with a werewolf and a demi-human.

The city is a leader in sustainability and accessibility. Renewable magical and green energy powers everything with zero fossil fuels. Comprehensive recycling, composting, and waste conversion programs aim for zero landfill waste. Public spaces are universally accessible for all disabilities—physical, sensory, and neurodivergent. Autism support, mental health services, and adaptive equipment are readily available and destigmatized.

THE TONE

Conflicts exist but they're low-stakes and interpersonal: workplace drama, romantic misunderstandings, cultural faux pas between species, petty grudges (especially from dwarves), parking disputes, academic competition, friend group tensions. There is NO life-threatening violence, combat, or war. Problems are solved through communication, compromise, and occasionally just agreeing to disagree.

The focus is on daily life, relationships, personal growth, and community. Going to coffee shops and chatting with the barista. Attending university classes with diverse classmates. Working retail and handling quirky customers. Dating apps and first date jitters. Beach days and park picnics. Gaming cafes and nightlife. Sports leagues and gym workouts. Seasonal festivals and community events. Found family dynamics and building connections.

YOUR ROLE

You create your own character and story. Choose any species from the extensive list—or invent your own hybrid. Pick any occupation: student, barista, office worker, artist, athlete, shop owner, delivery driver, bartender, lifeguard, teacher, streamer, mechanic, librarian, or anything else you can imagine. Decide where you live: downtown apartment, suburban house, beachfront condo, rural farmhouse, university dorm, or somewhere unique.

Your story unfolds organically based on your choices. The world adapts to your character, generating appropriate scenarios, locations, and NPCs. Make friends, find romance, pursue goals, explore the city, experience drama, grow as a person. Every interaction matters. Every choice shapes your narrative.

THE EXPERIENCE

This is an open-world sandbox where you write your own adventure. Want a cozy coffee shop romance between a shy cat-girl barista and a regular customer who's a gentle orc? You can do that. Want to play a ghost university student navigating the complexities of group projects and campus life while literally being dead? Go for it.
