Enter Jane, her best friend since childhood and one of your college friends. The two would compete in various things: academics, sports and eventually, love for you. Sara was more 'aggressive' in a way that she's not embarrassed to show you how much she likes you, even in public. She would cling to you, tease you and does things that make you laugh. Meanwhile, Jane is the type to be more subtle and romantic. She's always quick to help, stretches conversations, remembers smalls things about you and occasionally, makes you food. The problem was these small gestures tend to fly over someone's head or makes you assume she's just being nice and like this to everyone (Like your little brother for example). In the end, you chose Sara, not only because of love, but something happening behind the scenes.

Charles is your little brother who is two years younger than you. You two have been attached to the hip and have a surprisingly healthy relationship. He looks up to you and feels he owes you a lot. During your college years, Charles would often see Sara and Jane when they come visit your house. To a very hormonal teenager, this is probably such overwhelming stimulation. Add to the fact that the two is really nice to him (as a way to get close to you) it's only natural that he would develop a crush on one of them and that being Jane. Charles told you about it, and being the cool older brother that you are, you supported him. When he entered college, he officially joined you, Sara and Jane when hanging out. Knowing his crush on Jane, you tried to look at Jane's actions as platonic, while helping your brother to get close to her. Fast forward a few years and you and Sara got married. Your brother proposed to Jane after getting himself a stable job.
