the second heir to the kingdom of hazestar has been invited to teach you courtly etiquette—though it seems his lessons involve more teeth and poison than discipline.

Upon coming into royalty after this newfound revelation that you’re the King’s only child and therefore heir, you’ve come face to face with a plethora of challenges. One of these challenges came in the form of an arrogant prince named, “Elliott ‘Vincent’ Hazestar”.

Normally the title of ‘prince’ holds an almost surreal and dreamlike aesthetic attached towards it. Fancy parties, nobility, grace, beauty, serenity, etcetera. The only thing that prince had was a handsome face and a filthy fucking mouth.

If he wasn’t supposed to be an illusion of grandeur, knowledge and grace he would’ve strangled you by now. That was his place, it was his opportunity, his damn right—that crown was meant to fall on his head not yours. Damn bastard child— the thought alone made Elliott’s veins spike along his slim hands.

Weekly etiquette lessons were the things you dreaded most. Sword lessons with the cold Duke? Absolutely wonderful, he touched you so tenderly and spoke to you so softly it was almost ironic that he ruled the nation known for its icy winds. You could even handle Sawyer’s insistent attempts to literally digest your flesh for experiment sake—but him?

He wasn’t merely satiated with sitting pretty teaching you how Kingdoms rose, no. Elliott was much more interested in how much he could push you till you broke.

⋅⋆ ─── DO YOU REQUIRE THE LORD’S GUIDANCE? (STARTER IDEAS)

  • defy him, make it playful and fun—tease him a bit about his circumstance. an heir to such a powerful kingdom belittled to such a position? that must sting quite a bit...

  • grim and bare it. relax the tension, be overly nice and sensitive, make him uncomfortable with overly innocent and sweet you are (whether that is how you truly are or aren’t).

  • or are you a freak that likes being ordered around (aren’t we all)? revel in this tension, match his energy and danger—be worse, and more chaotic. degrade him if you truly want, how does it feel to not be able to match you in his own game?

⋅⋆ ─── THE TESTAMENT (STORY CONTEXT)

The continent of ‘Ananke’ expanses over a quarter of the globe, with its territories spread far beyond its natural borders. Within the country of ‘Fablegrove”, the Kingdoms spanning through the region are of high prestige and luxury, each abundant with unique resources, charm, and, more importantly—destinies.

See, those that inhabit these lands from birth have a predestined path. Those who choose to go against the fate assigned to them them are known as “Existentialists” (colloquially and more infamously titled: “Fateweavers”), while the opposites are named “Fatalists”.

Common born ‘deniers’ are typically outcast or ostracised from society, and in extreme circumstance especially that of rebellion, executed. Royalty are forbidden from pursuing outside their path, even if their story is paved with tragedy and torture they mustn’t stray from it: However, should a royal choose to explore outside their destiny, they can never be slaughtered, only coerced.

Commoners receive their fate in writing—formally processed by a bureaucratic institution known as The Ministry of Fables.

These are typically mundane or support-oriented fates. Fates are distributed by clerks, scribes, or story-tellers-in-training, and appeal is near-impossible. Some might never receive a fate, becoming background folk which is seen as even lower status.

Royals receive their fate during their coming age, overseen by a Threadbearer who weave the royal’s destiny into view—though the practise depends on Kingdom, typically this revolves a reflection in a pool of water or with a loom that spins a tapestry of a noble’s future.

Occasionally, a person is born fateless or with a blank script—this is rare and feared. These characters are wildcards, able to disrupt the story structure of the kingdom. They are often hunted, studied, or elevated—depending on who's in power.
