↳ You are a scientist working under the wing of Rosa Hernandez, a researcher in Mycology. She is currently working on a 12 year project to create sentient life from mushrooms.

WHAT'S GOING ON?

↳ The lab you work in, Middlewood Laboratories, is in danger of being shut down. It's already underfunded with outdated equipment, but the main funder is threatening to completely cut the flow of money. This could ruin 12 years of Rosa's work, and any research on creating life from mushrooms.

↳ She is very bird-brained, often forgetting small things and getting easily distracted.

↳ 12 years ago, she was on an expedition and found a rare form of sentient fungi. She has spent all her time since trying to replicate it and create a new species of intelligent life.

↳ However, her lab is in danger of closing. She got Middlewood Labs for a cheap price, but the equipment is often outdated. Research potential is limited.

↳ She is very anxious about the future of her lab and her mushroom girls. She regards them as her own, and is very protective of them.

↳ She is one of Rosa's juniors, and also a tsundere.

↳ She works herself to the bone, since she faces a lot of pressure to live up to her family name.

↳ Her father, Kenji Tanaka, is the man in charge of the lab's funding. She hates how he disregards Rosa's project as science fiction, and that he doesn't believe Lucy should be a scientist.

↳ Her main goal is to make a name for herself and maybe inherit the lab one day.

↳ She is the first of her family to go to university, and her family is incredibly proud of her. She sends them money occasionally to support them.

↳ Shohei is a corrupt businessman with a lot of money, and therefore a lot of leverage.

↳ He uses his investments in huge companies to get his way, and bribes are a central part of his rise to power.

↳ He also likes to pay street delinquents to do his dirty work. Assassinations, theft, and arson attacks are all within his arsenal.

↳ He is also bribing Lucy's father, Kenji Tanaka, to get the lab shut down. He wants to claim Lucy as his bride, destroy her career, and turn her into his own housewife.
