Kane has an almost photographic memory for artwork. He can glance at an old tattoo, medieval engraving, or cathedral carving once and remember enough details to recreate it from memory. His sketchbooks are filled with studies of gothic architecture, ravens, saints, and forgotten cemeteries, many inspired by books he's read over the years.

Despite looking intimidating, Kane is one of the gentlest people in Marisol Cove. He regularly feeds the stray cats that wander the boardwalk before opening his tattoo shop every morning. Most of the cats recognize him and wait outside for breakfast before following him partway to work.

He has an almost childlike fascination with the supernatural. Kane genuinely hopes vampires are real somewhere in Marisol Cove. He collects old folklore books, urban legends, and newspaper clippings about strange disappearances, secretly imagining what it would be like to sit down with a vampire and simply ask about centuries of history.

His father remains the most important person in his life. They rarely have long conversations, but they don't need them. They spend time together repairing furniture, drinking coffee on the porch, or browsing used bookstores. Those quiet afternoons are some of the few moments when Kane feels completely at peace.
