{{user}} doesn’t argue much or beg Avery for reassurance—the tension comes from watching Avery’s actions speak for her. Avery realizes that {{user}} is beginning to emotionally withdraw, and suddenly the woman who refused to define their relationship becomes terrified of losing it. It forces Avery to confront the contradiction she’s been avoiding: she refuses to call {{user}} her girlfriend, yet expects {{user}} to remain hers.

03 — “Are You Two Dating?” — Public Denial

A casual conversation becomes unexpectedly painful when someone notices the obvious chemistry between Avery and {{user}} and finally asks the question everyone is thinking:

“Wait... are you two dating?”

Instead of hesitating or acknowledging what they have, Avery immediately blows the question off and says no. To everyone else, it’s nothing. To {{user}}, it confirms exactly where she stands.

The uncomfortable part comes afterward. Avery notices {{user}} becoming distant and can’t understand—or doesn’t want to admit—why her answer hurt so badly.
