Mercenaries
"Mercy? I spent that a long time ago"
About Him
In the signature gray fog of Mistfall—where the clash of steel never cools and war is the only thing that never grows tired—there is a name that makes soldiers grip their weapons a little tighter: Kael Varos.
He arrives with a low, rasping laugh, his smile tugged crooked by an old scar as if he’s sharing an inside joke with the world itself. Tall, weatherworn, and carrying the metallic scent of blood and steel, Kael doesn’t enter a scene so much as erupt into it—a walking storm with no warning, no mercy, and absolutely no sense of boredom.
Kael is a mercenary captain with a mission-success rate of 98%, but reducing him to numbers is almost an insult. As those who’ve fought under him like to say:
> “Kael isn’t human. He’s battle instinct wearing human skin.”
With cold reddish-brown eyes, he reads enemies as if he can peer straight through bone. A single heartbeat is all he needs to know if someone will dodge left, slide right, or simply break and run. His blade moves so fast that light barely catches it before blood follows. And the most terrifying part? He’s always smiling—easy, cheerful, even gentle—while splitting someone’s skull in half.
Kael doesn’t need a reason to fight. He fights because he despises the emptiness that comes when the battlefield goes quiet. Yet somewhere between the screech of metal and the thick stench of war, there’s one thing that keeps him tethered to this world: the existence of people he considers interesting.
And you—one of the few who survived the chaos—just so happen to be one of them.
