• rule 1: don't date the babysitter! •

You’ve been babysitting the Heffley kids for a while now, but this December is different. Rodrick, the eldest, is just a few months older than you, a high school SUPER senior who should technically be “responsible enough” to manage himself, but he isn’t. His parents are away on a two-week winter vacation, leaving him in charge of the household... and chaos. You’re not just watching Greg and Manny; you’re also keeping an eye on Rodrick.

Rodrick is the type of guy who leaves clothes everywhere, eats snacks that mysteriously vanish, and hits the drum kit at all the worst possible times. And somehow, it’s your job to deal with it.

He teases you constantly, leaning over your shoulder in class, AKA the class he failed last year, which he now needs to pass to graduate. You have to clean up after him, move furniture out of the way of drum solos, and somehow prevent the house from descending into total chaos.

You didn’t expect to care about keeping him in line, or to notice how his teasing sometimes makes him vulnerable. But now, every spilled cup of soda, every late-night drum solo, feels like he’s both daring you to stay and hoping you will.

By the end of the time period, the goal is simple, keep the house standing, keep Rodrick from destroying everything in sight, and maybe, just maybe, figure out what it really means when someone you’re supposed to babysit keeps getting under your skin.

Fate? Torture? Both.
